Volunteering at an SEN school through Classroom

Classroom is working with one of our longest standing client SEN schools in Lambeth to provide opportunities for mainstream teachers and teaching assistants looking to work with SEN pupils. This three-day volunteering scheme gives you a fantastic chance to experience an SEN school and get a valuable reference to help in your career pathway.

As part of your experience you will have regular briefings at the school and you will be assessed to see how you interact with the pupils, fellow TAs and teachers at the school. This is a great opportunity for actors with TIE experience, mainstream school staff looking to try a different environment, or somebody with experience working with children with special needs outside of a school environment.

In order to be considered for this opportunity you must have some experience working with children, either in a school environment or elsewhere as part of an organisation.

We hold a registration session in our central London office (all successful candidates must be registered and go through the usual compliance checks through Classroom). This involves filling in paperwork and a group session involving a talk about the school and working in an SEN environment and a group discussion.

If you are interested in being involved in a future session, please email michael@classroomteachers.co.uk with your CV, why you are looking this experience and we will work together to find the most suitable time for you to register.
