September: It is never too late!

I wanted to go through a few of the options available for teachers in September, as only this morning I received an email from an NQT panicking about the fact she has not yet been able to secure a position for the new academic year. So I want to explain how Classroom can help!

I wanted to go through a few of the options available for teachers in September, as only this morning I received an email from an NQT panicking about the fact she has not yet been able to secure a position for the new academic year. So I want to explain how Classroom can help!

Firstly, I often hear NQTs fearing that if they do not secure a permanent job, they cannot complete their Induction year. And if they cannot do that then they will fall behind and if they fall behind...well it does not bear thinking about. The truth however is that you can complete your Induction year on long term supply. In fact, we have worked with many teachers over the years who have completed their Induction year in different schools. If you can only work part time, again, as long as it in a long term role so you can be assessed by a mentor, you can still work towards your Induction. As long as you complete the 195 days, it can be over 4 or 5 terms if necessary.

We all know about the teacher shortages, you may have felt them in your school, having to cover other classes or subjects. You may have been searching for jobs without finding one that you feel is suitable, or you may have gone for interview and have just missed out on a role. One thing I really want to stress is the amount of positions that become available in September itself. Whether it is a new position suddenly been created, another teacher dropping out last minute, or timetabling meaning another teacher is required, every year we have roles, so if you have not secured a role, do not fear! That being said, we will do everything we can to get you a role secured before the Summer holidays as there will be a flood of roles after resignation day!

Let the experienced team at Classroom work with you to find you the right environment that works for you. By registering with Classroom we will market you effectively to local schools who may not have an expensive advert posted but know they will be looking. I cannot tell you how many great teachers have found positions through Classroom because schools cannot allow a great teacher to pass them by.

So if you are currently looking for your first teaching role, or are in a permanent position and know you want to leave but are worried that you will not be able to find a role, please contact me by emailing Michael@classroomteachers.co.uk and we can go through exactly what you are looking for.
